Common Questions About the Akashic Records, Answered

19 September 2026 · 5 min read

Most people arrive at Akashic work with some version of the same handful of questions, and most of them go unasked because they feel awkward to say out loud. Answering them plainly tends to be more useful than any amount of atmosphere.

"Do I need to believe in this for it to work?" No. Curiosity is enough of a starting point — plenty of people approach their first session as sceptics and find the conversation itself useful regardless of what they make of the underlying framework.

"Will you tell me things I don't want to hear?" The work isn't built around prediction or verdicts. It's an inquiry into patterns already present in your life, held gently — not a dramatic reveal, and nothing is presented as fixed or inevitable.

"Is this religious?" It draws on old, cross-tradition language, but a session isn't tied to any one faith and doesn't require you to hold any particular belief. Many people who practise no religion at all find the work useful on its own terms.

"Can it replace therapy or medical care?" No, and it isn't presented as if it could. It's a complementary practice, not a diagnosis, treatment or substitute for professional support — if you're managing a health condition, keep working with the professionals supporting you alongside anything explored here.

If a question you have isn't answered here, the free What Are the Akashic Records? guide goes into more depth on the practice itself, and Introduction to Akashic Work is a low-commitment way to experience a guided inquiry before deciding whether to go further.
